Overview

Montreal is home to the world's most extensive underground pedestrian network. It is known as the underground city, the RESO or "la ville souterraine" in French. With its start in the early 1960's, the network today has blossomed into 33 km (21 mi) of tunnels and passageways that connect office towers, shopping centers, performing arts venues, hotels, university pavilions, department stores, exhibition halls and our metro system (subway). This is a fun and in-depth experience where you will navigate the maze of tunnels, staircases & passageways, learn about the history and functions of the network and admire creative artwork, interesting spaces and architecture along the way.

It's not what you think

Martin was a great tour guide with a thorough knowledge of the history and orientation of the underground system and the general Montreal geography. I would recommend new visitors to the city to try this tour which will help your orientation of the city and discover places you would otherwise be unaware of and miss altogether.

Leslie was very professional, friendly and helpful. She guided on the tour in a timely fashion, where we saw all the attractions I had seen online. Very pleased with the trip !

We took this tour on 1/4/20 and it was fun, informative and a great way to spend a Saturday morning. Our guide Lesley was infomed, funny and engaging. We saw things that we would have never seen if we just wandered around on our own. We also learned a lot about the history of Montreal.

Well worth the price and time.
Excellent tour & tour guide!

My family was lucky enough to have Lesley as our guide on 2 tours while on our trip to Montreal! (Check out her Old Montreal walking tour if you haven’t already). She is incredibly knowledgeable and passionate about the history of Montreal. She really gave us a unique perspective of the underground city and it was a very interesting tour. My family loved both tours & Lesley!
The best opportunity to warm up

If it is pretty cold outside, this trip offers the best opportunity to warm up and see a lot of interesting things.
