A great food tour should fill your belly with great food and your head with a sense of place. This was a great tour! First the belly part- We had an opportunity to sample rivaling smoked meat and bagel shops in a fraction of the time that it would have taken on our own. In addition, we sampled other businesses that were clearly local favorites. Along the way our tour guide shared stories of the history of community often using photos and excerpts from writings of notable people from the community. In short, our tour guide was the real deal. Unlike many tours, the tour was based on a deep knowledge and love for the restaurants and chefs in the area and clear respect for and knowledge of the history of the community. Well done!
Interesting and delicious

I enjoyed walking along the various sites and learning about the histories of the Jewish community, both in general and how it relates to the various restaurants, bakeries, and other locations we went to. The food was also very good, and I want to try out some of the places that we mentioned but were closed that day.

Fabulous food and history tour. Melissa is an excellent guide- thorough and animated. Learned a lot and had delicious food stops along the way. Well paced.
Amazing Tour

What a wonderful tour. Unfortunately, we had to cancel dinner reservations since we ate so much food. Two delis, two bakeries, a falafel shop, and ending with some ice cream. Melissa was incredibly knowledgeable and engaging. Not only did we learn about the history of the places we stopped, n but also a lot about the history of the Jews and other ethnic groups.
