Become a barista for a day! Explore the history of coffee around the world (and in Montreal) with an expert guide leading the way. Visit five coffee shops (including one micro roaster) focused on single origin, ethically sourced, small batch beans. cafés and roasters that have different ways of brewing to get an understanding of everything from espresso to cold brew. You'll also enjoy snacks, crudités and pastries to accompany your tastings.

Take a hands-on roasting class and taste your way from espresso to Turkish coffee to an espresso martini.

Learn about professional coffee tasting and identify unique coffee profiles through cupping and snack on pastries and crudités.

As coffee is an appetite stimulant it is recommended you do not start on an empty stomach! Food options are limited for gluten free or vegan participants.

What To Expect

Plateau Mont-Royal
In this area we visit a Turkish coffee shop to learn about the origins of coffee and try one along with a simit, or Turkish bagel. Then we go to a coffee shop with different types of cold brew coffee on tap and croissants.

Here we visit a coffee and wine bar and lounge with espresso martinis, crudités and vegan pastries.

Little Italy
Our last two stops are in Little Italy, where we'll get a private barista class on espresso extraction, accompanied by a scone, followed by a microroastery course to learn about everything from fair-trade certification to cupping and identifying coffee profiles by taste and smell.
